Wadi Sawa International is a conglomerate of dedicated Iraqi Companies and American Consultants whose engineering ability is to innovate and integrate professional project management and construction services. This is a key factor to our success in the reconstruction efforts in Iraq. Wadi Sawa has over 18 years of in country experience.

Amal M. Taha

Managing Director-The Wadi Sawa Group

Ms. Amal Taha is the founder and Owner of the Wadi Sawa Group. Established in 1989 and registered in 1991, Wadi Sawa grew in to the Wadi Sawa group in 2002. Ms. Taha received a BS in Engineering Control and Systems from the University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq. Ms. Taha is the Deputy General Manager for the Ghalib Al Saadi Company who specializes in water treatment, rehabilitation and maintenance.  Ms. Taha has served in the capacity of design engineer and project manager for the Amal Al Bakri Design Company. Most recently Wadi Sawa International was established to manage both traditional and innovated  construction projects throughout the Middle East.


Stephen A. Johanson, PE

President - WSI

Steve Johanson has worked in the Middle East for 5 years  in the utility and heavy construction industry. Mr. Johanson was the first President of Secure Global Engineering, LLC a Middle-East and North American engineering and construction Management Company. From 1986 to 2003, Mr. Johanson was the President of Culbertson Restoration MD, a specialty historic, masonry and concrete restoration company.  Mr. Johanson graduated from the University of Dayton in Dayton Ohio in 1976 with a BSCE, obtained his Professional Engineering license in 1981 and received a Certificate of Historic Preservation from Goucher College in 2002. Mr. Johanson served on the Board of Directors for the International Concrete Repair Institute and on the American Chamber of Commerce in Baghdad, Iraq.



Dr. Firas A.A. Kidher

Assistant General Manager- WSI Iraq

Dr. Kidher joined Wadi Sawa in 2004. He is a graduate of the Baghdad University with a BSCE. He received his Masters and PhD in chemical engineering from UMIST University, UK. Dr. Firas was appointed head of the State Engineering design Center from 1986-1991 and headed the State Technical Engineering Company from 1992-1996. Dr. Firas worked from 1996-2003 with the Al Majd Construction Company holding the positions of project manager, Deputy Director General and Director General.

 

Antonia Smith

Business Development and Proposal Manager-WSI

Ms. Smith has her degree in social sciences and criminal justice. Ms. Smith has over five years of government experience in research, statistics, analysis and grant writing. Ms. Smith has incorporated these skills in the construction industry for over a decade. She has worked with corporate and field offices as the head of their marketing and development programs. At Wadi Sawa, Ms. Smith works closely with all the partners and staff in proposal writing, business development and marketing.

 

Human Al Saadi

Assistant General Manager- WSI Spain

Mr. Ghalib supports material and equipment pricing and logistic support for our commerical projects in the Middle East. Coordinates with manufacturers concerning quality control and commissioning/start up of electrical and mechanical equipment.
